Prayer
I am confronted with the concept throughout scripture that God wants us to persistantly seek him in prayer. In Matthew 7, Luke 11 and Luke 18 it is our consistant coming before God and requesting of him that accomplishes something. Seeking, knocking, asking of God until at last He shows us, opens the door, and gives us what we have been asking for. I believe there is an incredible power in prayer that I have yet to recognize and fully enjoy because I have not attempted to truly come before our Lord and rely on Him in His faithfulness to accomplish the desires he has placed in my heart. With all of this I balance in my mind the scripture in James that speaks of asking those things that God would have us ask for as opposed to those desires which come from our flesh. I earnestly seek to and pray to God in this through Christ, knowing that my heart is above all else deceitful, I must be sincere and continue to allow God to work in my mind the knowledge of His will that comes through the transformation in my heart by His grace. Let us pray about all sorts of things and at all times, letting our vision and sight pass through the light of God before we receive either. In all of this I continue to grow and know more and more that I must first seek the counsel of the Lord.
